The Fear of a Contract

It is kind of neat to consider buying a campground.  You are investigating a new lifestyle, you are looking for a nice new area of the country for your family… and hopefully you will find a gold mine that will provide a good job and financial security for your family.  Yep, it is kind neat to “look”.

But reality seeps in and surrounds you when you get close to a deal.  The doubts creep in, the concerns deepen, the questions come up in the middle of the night…  Is this really what I want to do with the next few years of my life… and with all my MONEY?

It really smacks home when someone suggest you SIGN a CONTRACT…. That is real, that is final… I am really going to do this!

I have seen it time and time again…. Potential buyers have looked and looked and refined their search down to THE ONE FOR ME!  But then…. Doubts.  Those doubts manifest themselves in the way there is always something to determine, find out, assure yourself before they are willing to sign a contract.  Some, or most, ask… “Is their any new listing coming down the road?  Some, in fact most, never resolve that one last question and thus never buy.  If you wait for every last question to be answered… you will never buy.

I liken it to a child never having jumped into a swimming pool . Dad is there ready to catch the fearful, reluctant child.  He wants to, he knows he should try it, he knows dad will catch him, but still is hesitant.  But eventually he does it!  I think there is a line in the Bible… “Stop doubting and BELIEVE!”

Are you that child, at the edge of jumping into campground ownership?  If you have done your homework, examined you motives, understand the risks….  It may be time to JUMP!

Come on in, the water is fine!
